TERROIR
A regional appellation of the Saône-et-Loire from vineyards hills at 100 to 400 meters. The Maconnais terroir is considerably different from more northerly Burgundy regions. Here, the soil is clayey, siliceous or granitic. It’s due to these terroir differences that Chardonnay wines here give a more fresh and mineral style as opposed to the warmer, honeyed style of white Burgundy from further north in the Côte d’Or.
Vinification and ageing: The vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for 10 days. The extraction is achieved by the “pumping over” technique. Then follows ageing in stainless-steel tanks for 6 months.
