Maison Ropiteau
Located in Meursault since 1848, Ropiteau Frères is dedicated to making fine Burgundy wines and is especially well-known for its great white Burgundies.
Nicolas Burnez has been the winemaker for Ropiteau since 2003. A highly understated winemaker, Nicolas’s objective is to respect the terroir and the specificities of each vineyard. He insists on the idea that the key to success remains humility before the forces of nature, leaving great importance to vintages.
For white wines, vinification and ageing are made with 20% new barrels, which are assembled following a long heating process at low temperature for a very delicate boisé. The wine is aged on the lees for 14 months on average with just a few batonnages.
